Missionary. Disciple-Maker. Community Builder.
Joshua Holmes serves alongside his wife, Jamie, and their five children in Sicily, where their family is committed to helping people discover and follow Jesus. With a particular focus on people from refugee and immigrant communities, Joshua’s ministry brings together practical service, personal relationships, and intentional disciple-making.
Based in Catania, Joshua works to see people who have had little opportunity to hear the gospel encounter Jesus, grow as His disciples, and become part of communities of faith. His approach looks beyond traditional ministry settings, seeking opportunities to build relationships, equip local leaders, and see disciples multiply into new communities and churches.
One of the distinctive expressions of this vision is Agape Bici, a bicycle initiative that serves the local community through bicycle repairs, donated bikes, practical skills training, and opportunities to build relationships. What might begin with a bicycle can become a bridge to friendship, community, and the gospel.
Joshua also serves within Search Party, an organization committed to developing disciple-makers and seeing new churches established among people with limited access to the gospel. Through this work, he shares a vision for a multiplying movement in which people become disciples of Jesus and, in turn, help others follow Him.
Mission Sicily is grateful to partner with people who share a passion for making disciples, strengthening churches, and building bridges across cultures. Joshua and his family embody this vision in a distinctive way here in Sicily, combining practical compassion with a long-term commitment to seeing lives transformed by Jesus.
We’re excited to stand alongside Joshua and his family as they serve their community and help the gospel take root among people from many nations.
